Central Air Conditioners

A central air conditioner is a great way to stay cool and comfortable during the hot summer months. Central air conditioning units use the existing ductwork to quietly and efficiently cool your home. A coil is installed on or near the existing furnace where it has access to the existing ductwork. This unit collects the heat from inside the home and transfers it to an outdoor compressor unit, which expels it into the outside air.

Central A/C units are relatively efficient. However, if your central air conditioner is more than 12 years old, installing a newer, more energy efficient unit may save you up to 30% on your energy bill. One or our qualified home solution advisors can assist you in evaluating your potential savings. Contact one today for a FREE in-home assessment.

Looking to install a new central air conditioning unit? We will come out and measure your home, taking all things into consideration, and help you determine what size A/C unit will give you the highest efficiency and keep you cool and comfortable.  Contact one of our home solution advisor today to schedule a FREE in-home consultation.

Ductless Air Conditioners

Ductless air conditioners (also called mini-split systems) are ideal for homes without existing ductwork. Much like an outdoor air conditioning system, a ductless air conditioning system uses an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air handling unit. These two systems are connected by a conduit which contains the refrigerant tubing and power cable. A ductless air conditioning unit is a great option for buildings with a non-duct heating system, such as homes with radiant panels or hydronic (hot water) heating systems.

A ductless air conditioner has several advantages over other systems. For instance, a ductless A/C unit is more secure than a window-based A/C unit and does not need to be removed in the winter. Ductless air conditioners can also be installed in apartments and other buildings where installing ductwork is not feasible. Since ductless A/C units do not use ductwork, they avoid the energy losses associated with ductwork.

Heat Pumps

Looking to save some money on heating and cooling in your home, a heat pump may be your ticket. A heat pump is an outdoor unit similar to an air conditioner however it also works in reverse to provide a source of heat as well as cooling. Its dual purpose makes it a great investment. Find out if a heat pump is right for you with a FREE in home estimate.

Heat Pumps

In simplest terms, a heat pump is a device that transfers heat from one location to another, using only a small amount of electricity. Since a heat pump is only transferring heat (rather than generating it), it is more efficient than traditional heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

There are two basic types of heat pumps:

  •  Air-Source Heat Pumps (ASHP): This type of heat pump transfers heat from inside your house to the outside air.
  •  Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP): This type of heat pump transfers heat from inside your house to the soil. Since the soil remains a moderate temperature, this type of heat pump is more efficient as it is less affected by sudden increases in air temperature than traditional cooling systems.

The biggest advantage of a heat pump system is that it can be used to both cool your home in the summer and heat it in the winter. The heat pump can be reversed to transfer heat from outside your home to the inside.

Geothermal Cooling Systems

You will no longer need to rely on the price of LP, gas, electricity, or fuel to determine your cooling budget. Geothermal uses the natural cooling ability from the earth to cool your home. Geothermal will not only save you monthly energy costs but it will also allow you to do your part in preserving our non-renewable resources.

Geothermal Cooling Systems

Use the natural cooling ability of the earth to cool your home cheaply and efficiently. A geothermal cooling system can lower your homes energy costs by 50% or more per year and is incredibly energy efficient, up to 400% or more! Even the most efficient air conditioners cannot reach 100% efficiency. The extreme efficiency of geothermal cooling systems can be achieved because the earth does most of the work!

A geothermal cooling system will absorb the heat from your home then transfer it to underground loops, where the heat is absorbed by the earth, providing your home with cool, dehumidified air. This is done by pumping coolant through a heat exchanger, where it absorbs the unwanted heat in your home. This warmed coolant is then pumped through a series of underground pipes, allowing the heat to be naturally absorbed by the earth.
